Lions get lucky

Paul KasprzakContributor IJune 11, 2010

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were holding their breath earlier today when the third overall pick in 2010 National Football League Draft Gerald McCoy went down with a leg injury.

However, the Detroit Lions got lucky.

According to NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora, via Pro Football Talk, McCoy merely tweaked his hip.

That is good news for the Buccaneers as mini camps can sometimes get out of control and that results in major injuries as well.

In the end, hopefully teams will start realizing that mini camps are getting out of control and will do something before a superstar suffers a major injury.
