Top 5 Free Agents Miami Should Pursue

With all the hype going on about the free agent class, I think it's only fair to see the top five players that would be of the most impact to the Miami HEAT and help Dwyane Wade bring another parade down Biscayne Bay.
5) Raymond Felton
Sounds odd enough to say Miami should go after Felton. He only averages 13.3 PPG, and 6.4 APG but in reality, he is a solid point guard. Carlos Arroyo last season averaged 6 PPG and 3 APG. Mario Chalmers averaged 7 PPG and 3 APG. Felton would be a great addition to a team in desperate need of some point guard help because, let’s be realistic, there aren’t many free agent point guards in the market this off season besides Steve Nash, and odds are if he doesn’t stay in Phoenix, he will probably end up in New York with Mike D’Antoni.
4) Ray Allen
The odds of this happening are against us. But, if for some reason Boston does not resign Allen, Miami should get on the Ray-Ray express and try to entice him to play for a championship team. Allen is one of the purest shooters in the game and he would give us the three-point threat that we have been missing since the days that Jason Kapono donned a HEAT jersey. Allen was 36% from beyond the arc this past season and is 41% from deep this post-season.
3) Amare Stoudemire
Miami has been linked to Stoudemire for a while now. He is a terrific athlete who averages career numbers of 21.4 PPG and 9 RPG. Some complain that he is lacking on the defensive side because he only averaged one block per game this past season. The biggest problem with Stoudemire is the fact he doesn’t play defense the way he is supposed to. For someone wanting a max deal, his defense should be better, but no doubt he is a great asset to have. If he wasn’t, why has Pat Riley been coveting him for the past 2 years? There must be something special about Stoudemire. We all saw what he can do during the playoffs when he had his monster numbers.
2) Carlos Boozer
Many people see Boozer as the “Bronze Medal” if you will, of the free agents in Miami’s radar. I think quite the opposite. Boozer is a terrific player who has not been getting the attention he deserves. The top three in this list are all in the same stratosphere when it comes to Miami’s radar. Truth be told, any of these five free agents would make a tremendous affect on the Miami HEAT 2010/2011 roster. Boozer averaged 19.5 PPG and 11.2 RPG, a tremendous help to the Miami front court if he was to come to sunny Florida. Boozer and Miami have been flirting for quite some time now, and I have every indication that it will turn into a serious relationship this off-season.
1) Chris Bosh
To quote the most amazing song made for Chris Bosh to come to Miami: “BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH BOSH CMON PAT RILEY!!!!”
Miami must do whatever it takes to get Bosh. If you can’t remember back to 2003, Pat Riley was originally going to draft Chris Bosh. Thankfully, at the time, Toronto picked him up and we ended up drafting Dwyane Wade and the rest is history. How great would it be for Riley to be able to sign Bosh and Wade? He would have had his cake and he be able eat it too. The fourth and fifth pick in 2003 draft, the two players he wanted are now going to play for his team. Bosh averaged career highs this season in points (24.0) and rebounds (10.8). An acquisition like Bosh to Miami would certainly get Dwyane Wade to re-sign and soon after get one more star and the Miami HEAT dynasty will begin.
