With NBA summer leagues beginning to start and soon preseason, we look forward to the Oklahoma team to name themselves.

As everyone knows the Seattle Sonics lost a lawsuit earlier this year and now have to move to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Previously, the New Orleans Hornets were in Oklahoma City because of the impact on their arena made by Hurricane Katrina.

This is where you come in, give me a name that would best suit this Oklahoma City team. I have one it's going to sound corny but most names are.

The Oklahoma City Outlaws is what I would name this team.

  1. The Seattle Sonics did not lose anything. The Seattle Sonics, which are owned by Oklahoma Cityan Clayton Bennett, had been sued by the City of Seattle, but the city and the team settled out of court. So, the Seattle Sonics have moved to Oklahoma City. They did not "have to move," they just moved because the City of Seattle would not even consider a new arena.

    1. Sorry Dave if I offended thee.

Do you have a new nickname for the Oklahoma City team?

  2. I believe the Outlaws is catchy, but it might send an incorrect signal to the folks who get upset about that sort of thing.

If they don't stay as the SuperSonics then maybe they should ask the fans to vote. If you look at the surrounding area of the state, with its oil drilling, they might could use the name "Roughnecks".

    1. Hmmm the Oklahoma City Roughnecks. That'd sound pretty catchy as well BabyTate.

  3. How about the OKC Mustangs? I recently wrote an article on this subject.
