Could This Be The End Of Roy Williams In Dallas?

Before we read too much in to this, the likelihood of it happening is about 99-1, but then again with Dallas you never know. Okay, it seems that murmurs are going around at The Ranch that some time during camp Cowboys Safety Roy Williams could be flat out cut or traded.

This is of course depending on how Williams performs at this years training camp. If he should falter don't get shocked if you read in the paper that he was cut or traded away to another team.

However, I am not sold Dallas is going to trade him away to someone else but like I said it's Dallas and we never know what they are going to do. I do know this much however, that Williams performance in the past year or so has slipped to being a below average safety in the NFL.

Which doesn't bode well for Williams if he hopes to stay on as a Cowboy past the 2008 season, but stranger things have happened to players who have had the gauntlet thrown down at them.

Now we'll just have to wait and see how Roy responds to this challenge and if he in fact remains a Cowboy for at least one more year.

He started off as being good but he steadily declined and now it's tough to say he is good any more

Same here because this could his last chance to show why he deserves to stay on this team and not be traded

hahaha, wow...that was a good one osi...i cant respect a man that hoarsecollars everydamn body...for god sakes he still does it, AFTER THE FACT THAT THE NFL MADE IT A RULE...and they made it a rule because of HIS ASS!!...he's nowhere near good...because whenever he makes a play, a yellow flag comes out...tell me not?

Yes, he does still do a lot of horse collaring. Even Emmitt stopped taking off his helmet on the field after they made a rule against that, so what's Roy's problem?

You really don't see a lot of flags come flying out when Roy is near a receiver or tight end that he is covering but the truth is the NFL has skirted players and has made this game a less to no contact type
of sport..which limites how a player is suppose to in fact defend or tackle someone who has the ball

Roy has been decling for a couple of years. He has the same problem as many NFL safetys. He wants the big hit everytime. With this team he cannot be allowed to be a weak spot this season.

He says he has lost weight, but it takes more than a slim waist to cover and he can't cover the worst TE. He was targeted almost every week last season ( him and J.Reeves) Shockey had one of his only good games against Roy and the Pats exploited him the entire game. He is making way too much money to play like 'an average' safety. He has been taking bad angles and getting caught out of position. For Cowboys fans to watch his play decline for the last couple of years has been frustrating.

I don't see him being cut unless his attitude declines, but with Henry almost ready for a move to safety and Hamlin now signed long term, Roy finally needs to play well to stay on the field.

Agreed he has and part of it could be that the league has hammering down to much on the way you can and can not tackle a player

williams is a hard hitting Safety and nothing else. I wouldn't be suprised at all if he is traded after a bad training camp, especiall after his season last year. And he still made the Pro Bowl somehow.
