2010 Calder Cup Final, Game 4: Bears Win, 4-2

Mike MacDonaldCorrespondent IJune 10, 2010

For the first time in this series, the Hershey Bears got their power play going and it was the difference as the Bears broke a 2-2 tie in the third period for a 4-2 win over the Texas Stars in Big D.

A full house at Cedar Park Arena saw the home team once again have to lead only to lose it.

After Greg Rallo scored for the Stars to tie the game at 1-1, Perttu Lindgren scored on the Stars power play from Garrett Stafford and Travis Morin to take a 2-1 lead at the half way point of the game.

From there the Bears took over.

Hershey forward Jay Beagle tied the game on a great play from Mathieu Perreault about 2 minutes later and the momentum was beginning to shift Hershey's way.

Late in the third period, a penalty for too many men on the ice was called on the Stars and that when the Bears went to work.

John Carlson scored his first goal, on the power play, by re-directing Keith Aucoin's shot past Stars netminder Matt Climie to give the Bears the lead they wouldn't let go.

Alexandre Giroux added an empty net goal, on the power play to seal the win and get the Bears back in the series.

With the Bears win in game 4, there will be at least a game 6 in Hershey on June 14th.

So far though four games the home team has been unable to win in this series. Game 5 is Friday June 11th at 8:30pm eastern. Listen to the game on XM Radio channel 204.
