NFL, NFC North, Chicago Bears, Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton, Tommie Harris, Devin Hester, Game Recap

Do you want to know what happened at the start of training camp for the Chicago Bears?

I'm sure everyone does.

Besides the Chicago Bears seeing their superstar kick returner and wide receiver Devin Hester hold-out, they also placed four players on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Those four players are Olin Kreutz (Achilles heal), Kevin Jones (knee), Dusty Dvoracek (calf), and Chester Adams (stomach).

Those players can come off the list at any point during training camp.

Cornerback Charles Tillman was not on the field for practice.

First round pick Chris Williams, who was signed to a five year deal today, was happier than anybody, even though he will start the camp behind veteran John St. Clair.

General Manager Jerry Angelo addressed the Hester situation after practice.

Rex Grossman has won the starting quarterback job for the first day of practice.

A coin toss went down Wednesday morning during the quarterback meeting.

Kyle Orton called it, but Rex Grossman won it.

So "Sexy Rexy" will run with the first-team offense for one day.

"We will both get the same amount of reps with the first-team offense," Kyle Orton said.

That's all from Chicago Bears training camp Day 1.

  1. Gee Wizz, when will Dusty Dvorcek not be hurt? I'm still waiting to see what all the chatter is all about.
