Tottenham have announced that they have reached an agreement with Sunderland for the transfer of Teemu Tainio, for a fee which is undisclosed.

The Finnish midfielder made 83 appearances for Tottenham, following his transfer from French side Auxerre in 2005.

Roy Keane will be delighted with the capture, as he looks to improve his Sunderland side and try to establish themselves as a Premier League team again.
