Transfer Rumors: Robinho To Barcelona?

Andre RojterCorrespondent IOctober 17, 2016

Tuesday (6/8)Spanish newspaper "Sport" is reporting that the La Liga champions are the front runner to land Brazilian star Robinho. The information was confirmed by the player ’s agent, Evandro de Souza , who has a planned trip to Manchester along with Gilvan de Souza, Robinho's father, somewhere in mid June. The paper is reporting that the main discussion will be a possible trade to Barcelona in exchange for Zlatan Ibrahimovic . City manager Roberto Mancini has been quoted as saying he has no preference between the Brazilian or the Swede. On June 16th there will be a meeting between both City and the Robinho camp where the Brazilian hopes to secure the move back to Spain .

His agent, Evandro de Souza, is confident the deal will be done and has also reveled Robinhos desire to play in La Liga again. "The relationship between City and Robinho is a good one, it is the relationship between Robinho and manager Mancini that has problems" de Souza went on to say. The agent also claims to know City is trying to find a location to ship Robinho, however Barcelona has said nothing in regards to any amount and that this is simply an offer to be studied.

Robinho feels his performance in the World Cup will dictate where he will play his football next year, while he is shooting for Barcelona he is aware that if he plays at a level higher than expected the doors to all major European clubs will open for him.
