Jeff Hardy Drug Trial Update

Jason Taylor@jtay59Correspondent IJune 7, 2010

According to Sports Entertainment Scoops, Jeff Hardy's next court appearance will be on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in the Superior Court of Moore County in Carthage, NC.

Hardy's trial was set to begin last week, but it appears that the District Attorney has dropped some of the charges against him. According to the North Carolina court system website, Hardy is only being charged with conspiracy to traffic opium.

The original charges against Hardy were as follows: felony trafficking of opium, two counts of felony possession with the intent to sell or deliver a Schedule lll controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jeff was looking at 14 years in prison if he was convicted on all of these charges, but now it appears he may avoid some serious jail time.

I hope this experience serves as a wake-up call for him to get his life in order.
