ACC Champion

Clemson, 51 votes

Looking at the Atlantic, it was known Clemson would be picked as the winner. Anyone who follows college football probably knows by now that Clemson is considered the top of the ACC and even a top nationwide team.

Wake Forest in second is a logical pick. Wake returns a great deal of talent and is led by a quality coach. Florida State following in third rounds out the top three of the Atlantic that almost everyone has in their predictions. Florida State could still have issues but it is widely regarded with the talent they have they should improve from last season.

Following Florida State is Boston College. A reasonable pick to many, but also a pick of question. Boston College has a great deal of talent, but is still under a new coach and entering the post Matt Ryan era (among other players who are not returning). In a close fifth is Maryland, which is not an unreasonable pick, but is interchangeable with the Boston College pick.

And, last but not least—actually they are least—is North Carolina State. A program which is still under a new coach and lacking some talent. They should be ever improving but are not there yet, as seen with almost everyone placing them in last.

The Coastal winner in almost all predictions is Virginia Tech. A team who will face some questions and issues, but that is led by a great coach and always overflowing with talent.

Following Virginia Tech is somewhat of a surprising pick (at least when factoring recent history) in North Carolina. Carolina has some very talented positions and a quality coach, but are they ready for second place in the Coastal?

Coming in at third is the one time national powerhouse Miami. Miami is still in the process of rebuilding, which seems to be taking forever right now, but no doubt one day should return to the spotlight.

In fourth place comes a program under a new coach, Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech has a completely new system to learn and there are many questions about how much success they can have in one season.

Bottoming out the Coastal division are Virginia in fifth and Duke in sixth. Virginia will be taking a big step back from last season's overachieving according to this prediction, and Duke once again will be the bottom of the ACC. Surprised?

Looking at the ACC, the Atlantic once again will be a much stronger division. Teams such as Boston College or Maryland could be a possible second place in the Coastal. The Coastal may get their act together and maybe a team will surprise us, but until then these are the official ACC predictions they released.

  1. WF ACC champs!!!!

    1. It is possible. If Bowden struggles and Clemson does the annual choke Wake could make it to the championship.
