With the NBA and NHL about to crown their season champions, and the baseball season still many, many, months away from being over, the smell of football is in the air.

There is no doubt that football has become America's favorite sport, and whether it be college football on Saturdays, or the NFL on Sunday/Monday, pigskin is pigskin, and the anticipation is mounting.

Here are the top 10 reasons why I am ready for the season to start...

Where will T.O. end up playing?

No doubt T.O. isn't the same play maker that he once was, but it is always interesting to see where he will go and how he will affect the team chemistry. If anything else, he is almost always entertaining on some level.

Mini Camps

The mini camps are a way for the fans to get close to the team and just sort of hang out and enjoy the great weather. Players are usually joking around and having fun, before the grind of the real season begins.

NFL Network

The NFL Network has provided many of us with a way to get our football fix during the offseason. While I am writing this very article, I'm watching the Colts vs. Bears Super Bowl on the network, and it has put me in a wonderful place, especially being a Colts fan here in Indy.

Eagles QB situation

Okay, so McNabb is out of the picture now. Is Kolb the answer? What to do with Vick? Some interesting questions lie ahead for the Philadelphia Eagles. Outside of that, both sides of the ball are going to have some noticeable changes.

Rookies

The rookies may not play as big a roll this year as they have in the past couple of years, but no doubt the eyes will be on Sam Bradford this year. Will the chosen one get on the field in Denver? How will Clausen do in his rookie year on a very good Carolina team?

Return of injured players

With so many players suffering season ending injuries last season, it will be nice to see them back on the field. One of the most valuable one of these players will be Wes Welker, who is a big piece of the puzzle in New England.

Madden '11

August 10! Although I really dislike Gus Johnson, I think he will bring something new to the game, and I really look forward to seeing some of the changes. Does the Madden Curse continue?

Fantasy Football

Even though I didn't play it at all last year, I think there are thousands of people that look forward to this every year. Thinking about giving it a go this year.

The return (again) of Brett Favre

Brett Favre was one stupid pass away from the Super Bowl last season, and a chance to ride off into the sunset while sticking it to the Packers. The Vikings will once again be contenders and possibly favorites to make it to the Super Bowl, giving Favre another chance at a fairy tale ending.

New faces in new places

There will be many players wearing different uniforms this season. It will be interesting to see how they fit in with their new teams. Obviously McNabb in Washington is a big one, but what about Anquan Boldin in Baltimore? Will Campbell make the Raiders relevant again? Will L.T. finally get a ring this year with the Jets? Brandon Marshall looks to make the Dolphins contenders again as well.

So what are YOU looking forward to about the upcoming NFL season?
