There's really no need to fear, the Packers will likely announce the signing of several of their draft picks within the next couple days, especially the lower round draft choices. It would be unheard of for a lower round draft choice to hold out. Any missed time would be suicide for players who aren't exactly guaranteed of a roster spot anyhow.
The only players who might miss any time at all are second round draft choices Jordy Nelson or Brian Brohm given that they are skill position players and may command more money, and even that is unlikely. After the first round, most signings fall into line fairly quickly.
At most, a player like Nelson or Brohm might miss a day or two of camp while they hammer out the details of the contract but not much more.
That being said, the Packers currently have 77 players under contract with nine draft choices and running back Ryan Grant currently unsigned. That leaves the Packers room to negotiate three contracts without having to make any cuts. Once they meet that limit, the Packers will have to start making seven cuts at minimum to get all their current players under the 80 man roster limit.
Here are Railbird Central's predictions for the seven cuts to be made as training camp begins. Of course, things could always change due to injury:
- Wide receiver Johnny Quinn
- Fullback Ryan Powdrell
- Cornerback Joe Porter
- Guard Ryan Keenan
- Tackle Ryan Considine
- Linebacker Spencer Havner
- Tight end Evan Moore
