MY Top 10 Favourite Pro Wrestling Personalities
Ladies and Gentlemen...
Here is MY top 10 list of Wrestling personalities. Please remember, this is my list, it is written in my opinion. Please remember this when commenting. Different people have different tastes.
I have written this as my top 10 PERSONALITIES as I wanted to include some great people who are not actually wrestlers...
Most of these are from WWF / E and ECW. This is when I watched so much wrestling I went blind!!! Unfortunately I could not include a lot of Japan and Mexican wrestlers as we do not get them on TV here.
11. Triple H (WWE)
12. Brian Gewirtz (WWE - was the Raw Head Writer)
13. Jay Lethal (TNA)
14. Mickie James (WWE)
15. Yoshihiro Tajiri (ECW)
16. Jushin Liger (Japan)
17. Bill Alfonso (ECW)
18. Undertaker (WWE)
19. Jeff Hardy (WWE / TNA)
20. ODB (TNA)
10. Chris Benoit
The Rabid Wolverine makes my Top 10.
He was a phenomenal wrestler, great technical skills, excellent persona, immense aggression... Chris had it all.
Tazz was a submission machine. I was not a big fan of him as the Tazz-maniac. But after his injury when he came back, WOW. What an impact...
Great as a colour commentator too, I really like him.
8. Shawn Michaels
Shawn is one of the best ever. He has done it all.
I am so glad he has retired though, his body needs a break like nothing else.
He gave everything to his fans, giving everything he had, every night he went out there.
Lita innovated Women's wrestling when she was in WWE. She did moves that mirrored those of the famed Lucha Libre.
And she was damn hot while she did it, too!!!!
6. Jim Ross
Jim Ross is one of the best sports announcers ever. That includes other sports. He is incredible.
5. Joey Styles
Joey called PPV's by himself, no colour commentator, never been done before him, and I doubt will ever be done again.
It is a testament to how hard he worked.
He is definitely one of my faves.
4. Terry Funk
Terry, the Hardcore Legend - well, before Mick Foley was.
This man had done it all, then came back and did more. His willingness to create new, younger stars should be hailed.
He is a wonderful person in the wrestling community.
3. Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Texas Rattlesnake
"STONE COLD, STONE COLD, STONE COLD" I was cheering with the best of them when I heard JR screaming this with orgasmic aggression!!!
He epitomizes the hard working, drinking, fighting man that most Australians are. I think this is why he had such a huge following here...
2. Rob Van Dam
RVD - An excellent wrestler...
He was incredible in ECW, he innovated moves, and even had a move he invented sanctioned by the Weightlifting governing body: the Van Dam lift.
Doing a split over two chairs and lifting a dumbbell...
1. Paul Heyman
Say what you like about Paul E, but I think he is one of the most genius minds in Pro wrestling.
I love his booking, I love his on screen character, i love his enthusiasm.
If only he would come back...... TNA could be saved by this man.
