Great crowd on hand at Giant Center in Hershey, PA as more than 10,000 fans welcomed the opening of the 2010 Calder Cup Finals between the Hershey Bears and Texas Stars.

Hershey Bears scored the first goal of the game with a great individual effort from Francois Bouchard just over four minutes into the second period, but Greg Rallo replied with a nice wrist shot, using the Bears defenseman as a screen from the high slot to beat Neuvirth and tie the game 1-1 just over three minutes later.

Early into the third period, Bears forward Chris Bourque attempted a lazy pass to the point for Bears defenseman Sean Collins that was intercepted by the Stars Scott McCulloch at the Stars blue line.

McCulloch skated in on Hershey goalie Michal Neuvirth with a hard back checking Bourque on his tail and made a nice back hand, forehand move around a diving Chris Bourque and slipped the puck past Neuvirth to give the Stars a 2-1 lead, 2:10 into the third period.

Stars hung on in the remaining minutes of the third period for the 2-1 win and took Game 1 of the best of 7 Calder Cup Finals.

Game 2 is Saturday, June 5th, 7:30 game time start. All Calder Cup games can be heard on XM radio channel 204.
