Tall Reliever Jon Rauch Heading to Arizona

Ryan Gaydos@@RyanGaydosSenior Analyst IJuly 22, 2008

The Arizona Diamondbacks were looking to strengthen their bullpen and ready themselves for the heated NL West race. Today, they have done that by acquiring tall reliever Jon Rauch from the Washington Nationals in return for infield prospect Emilio Bonifacio.

Rauch has recorded 17 saves this season and has put up a 2.98 ERA. Rauch is six foot eleven inches, which just edges out starter Randy Johnson's height of six foot ten inches. Arizona now has the two tallest players in baseball on their team.
