The 10 Hottest Athletes Who Kind of Suck at Sports
When it comes to sports, people like to say that winning is everything. If you're not a winner, you don't matter.
If that were true, however, you would have never heard of any of the women on this list.
There are plenty of athletes out there who are hot and excel at what they do (Amanda Beard, Maria Sharapova, Jennie Finch, etc.), but there are even more out there who are famous because they are hot and play a sport, even if they don't play it very well.
Here are 10 of the hottest athletes who pretty much suck at sports.
No. 10: Kristi Leskinen
Trust me, you do not know about Kristi Leskinen because of her prowess on the slopes.
She's won a total of two medals from what I can tell. A silver in the 2005 World Freestyle Championships and a bronze at the 2005 Winter X-Games. That's it. No Olympics.
If it weren't for this steamy photoshoot for FHM (a favorite of mine), you wouldn't know her name at all.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I know her name. I just don't care about seeing her ski at all.
No. 9: Kiira Korpi
I know the name Kiira Korpi. I had to look up the name Kim Yu-Na. One of them won the 2010 figure skating gold medal. One of them finished 11th.
I'll give you a hint: I knew the hot 11th place finisher.
So while Kiira Korpi didn't win anything officially at the Olympics, she did win my heart for not only being hot, but for breaking out the sexiest stripper cop routine ever on ice.
No. 8: Ana Paula Mancino
I'm a big Ana Paula Mancino fan and it's definitely not because I'm a big fan of Italian volleyball.
This platinum-haired beauty played a few years as a teenager, but once she broke out her good looks in a sexy calendar in 2002 it was all over.
Honestly, she may have been okay at volleyball because there isn't a lot of evidence either way, but the reason she's showing up on your computer screen almost 10 years after she last played is not because of her talent.
No. 7: Allison Stokke
I don't mean to pick on Allison. She certainly didn't ask for all this fame. A couple of pictures of her looking hotter than hell hit the internet and the rest was history.
Still, you can't find a ton of info on her athletic achievements, mainly because there aren't that many. She's not one of the top pole vaulters in the world. She's not even one of the top pole vaulters on her own team.
That could change, sure, she still has plenty of time to get better. But until then, she doesn't really seem to be much more than a pretty face on a fantastic body.
No. 6: Natalie Gulbis
When you're ditching your golf game for a spot on "Celebrity Apprentice 2", you can't really be that invested in golf in the first place.
Or maybe Gulbis was invested, but just gave in to the hard reality that she wasn't very good.
It certainly wasn't her game that got her noticed, with just one win on the LPGA Tour three whole years ago. It was more like her relationship with a one Ben Roethlisberger, or pictures of her like this.
No. 5: Ashley Harkleroad
You know Ashley Harkleroad because of "Playboy". Period.
No. 39 in the world at her peak, Harkleroad would have been just another cute tennis player with a weird last name if she hadn't become the first tennis player to take it all off for Hef.
No. 4: Danica Patrick
Danica Patrick was a mediocre Indy racer at best, but it was her looks that propelled her to the fame she has now.
Then when she made the transition over to NASCAR, that's when the proverbial wheels fell off. So far she has yet to even finish in the top ten.
Maybe Danica needs to go make some more soul-crushing Go Daddy videos and leave NASCAR to the boys.
No. 3: The Feres Sisters
Bia and Branca Feres are synchronized swimmers...or so I'm told. I don't think I've ever actually seen them do anything other than hug each other in various states of undress.
They weren't good enough to help Brazil make it to the 2008 Olympics and, although they say they're looking forward to the 2012 ones, somehow I don't think their future lies in that sport.
No. 2: Leryn Franco
As this picture shows you, Leryn wants to be seen as hot (with the heels) and as a javelyn thrower, but I'm afraid the days of the latter are soon coming to an end.
At the 2004 Olympics she finished 42nd out of 45 and in 2008, she didn't even crack the top 50.
We appreciate your legs and your looks Leryn, but maybe it's time to start making your money using a different kind of pole.
No. 1: Anna Kournikova
Anna Kournikova may be the pinnacle of a hot athlete who never really accomplished anything.
Yes, it was impressive when she broke onto the scene at such a young age, and she did ascend to a No. 8 ranking in 2000, but she soon fell off the map talent-wise while still managing to stick around thanks to her looks.
Kournikova hasn't even played a match for the WTA since 2003, yet she still was the most famous female tennis player for years after.
