The Bachelor and the Bachelorette are two of the most successful dating shows ratings wise ever.
Both shows have had so many spinoffs, it’s hard to keep count, but other then Jesse Palmer, there hasn’t been any other athletes to appear on the show.
But here at Bleacher Report, we believe that should change.
Here is a list of female athletes who should get a shot at love as the next Bachelorette.
10. Stacy Keibler
Keibler would an interesting pick for the Bachelorette not only because she is a former WWE wrestler, but she is an actress as well so you never know whom would she pick to be her suitors.
Would she pick a wrestler like herself like the current Bachelorette has done or would she pick some cheesy actor?
The drama could be better than WWE.
9. Nastia Liukin
Liukin made headlines as the All-Around Olympic gold medal champion in gymnastics back in the 2008 Summer Games.
Rumor has it she once dated another Olympic Gold medalist, Evan Lysacek — although both deny it.
It would interesting to see if the 20-year-old could balance a dating life as well as she does her gymnastics career.
8. Julia Mancuso
Mancuso, is an alpine ski racer who won gold in the 2006 Olympics in the giant slalom and won two silver medals in 2010 Winter Olympics.
Unlike teammate Lindsey Vonn, Mancuso hasn’t really capitalized on her Olympic glory yet although she has done a little modeling, but with her beauty and athleticism, she would be the perfect Bachelorette.
7. Venus Williams
According to some reports, Venus might actually have a boyfriend, but she is still technically single, is one of the best tennis players in the world, and has a jet-setting lifestyle which the show would love.
If she became available again, it would be interesting to see her suitors.
6. Michelle Wie
Wie was thought of at one point as the female version of Tiger Woods but so far, it hasn’t worked out that way.
What better way to rekindle the public’s interest in the former phenom then to have her become the next Bachelorette?
Plus, she's not bad looking either.
5. Anna Rawson
The Bachelorette has never had an international beauty. That would all change with Ms. Rawson.
This Aussie plays golf on the LPGA tour and she models on the side.
I don’t think the producers of the show would have any problems finding suitors for her, do you?
4. Anna Kournikova
Although she hasn't competed professionally in a singles match with the regular WTA Tour in awhile, Anna is still considered by many as the hottest women's tennis player ever.
Before there was Maria, there was Anna. Tennis was just her side gig—the real fun was her personal life.
With Anna as the Bachelorette, it would probably be the biggest ratings hit ever and draw in the largest male audience ever for the show too.
3. Natalie Gulbis
Gulbis would be the perfect Bachelorette.
She has All-American girl looks, has actually won a few golf tournaments on the LPGA Tour, and she once dated Ben Roethlisberger—although that shouldn’t be held against her.
We know her love life wouldn’t be boring.
2. Maria Sharapova
Maria Sharapova is the hottest female in tennis right now.
She has beauty, brains, and unlike another blond import name Anna, she actually wins tournaments.
A lot of male fantasies would be fulfilled if Sharapova became the next Bachelorette.
1. Serena Williams
Now, some may be shocked that Serena is No. 1 on this list but let me explain why.
Like her sister Venus, Serena leads a jet-setting lifestyle but unlike Venus, Serena doesn’t look to be settling down soon.
She has had such suitors as the rapper/actor Common and director Brett Ratner.
Oh and did we mention she is the best female tennis player in the world, owns her own business and is a minority owner with the Miami Dolphins?
Not to mention she has a fabulous body which she likes to show off from time to time and she is a minority which is something else the show hasn’t covered yet.
