Daisy De La Hoya: Oscar's Niece Admits Dating Corey Haim Before He Died

The niece of boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya is making a name for herself in Hollywood by being linked to bad-boy rockers and troubled souls.

Daisy De La Hoya confirmed reports Wednesday that she was dating Corey Haim before he died.

She has been tweeting quite a bit to let fans know how much she misses Haim.

Daisy was one of the stars of the second season of "Rock of Love" with Poison front man Bret Michaels.

She was so popular on that show that she won her own VH1 schlock-fest, "Daisy of Love."

She has a full slate of summer concerts and a new single called "Suck It."

She Was Broken Up After the News

Haim died from a suspected overdose at his mother's apartment in Los Angeles.

After the news, Daisy took to her Twitter feed.

"I'm sooooooo devastated right now. This is the worst day ever I can't believe this," she tweeted.

She had just started dating Haim and attended a party at the Playboy Mansion with him and Corey Feldman.

She Wanted to Rescue Haim

One of the 28-year-old's friends told E! Online, "Daisy knew Corey was doing a lot of drugs, especially prescription meds. She thought he was kind and talented, and she wanted to rescue him."

"She became his confidant over the last few weeks. He told her a lot. They weren't in an exclusive relationship, but they were having a lot of fun getting to know each other and seeing what would happen."

She Wanted the Happy Ending

"I was supposed to see him (Haim) at some point later on in this week. I just had a really rough year with a relationship; I guess he had been doing the same," De La Hoya said on "Access Hollywood."

"I would have liked to have made the situation a happy ending, but I think that we never had that time to really do that."

Feldman Introduced Them

De La Hoya told "Access Hollywood" that Feldman and his wife introduced her to Haim and warned of his past and present issues.

"He had his reservations...but I was just like...'I really like this guy a lot and...I feel like he needs a positive person in his life, because I don't feel like he has a lot (of them)'," she said.

"I always want to see the good in people. I have dealt with those issues myself, so when I see myself in somebody, I recognize those demons and I want to be there to help people, so I naturally always flock to the wounded birds."

She's Been Rocking Since '03

According to her MySpace bio, Daisy got her start in the rock business recording bass and backing vocals for Seraphim Shock's album "Halloween Sex N Vegas."

She hit the road with the band in 2004 as the bassist for their nationwide tour.

De La Hoya is playing everywhere from California to New Hampshire over the next three months.
