Don Cherry vs. Craig Sager, a True Playoff Battle
It has become a rite of Spring. The battle between Don Cherry and Craig Sager to see who can dress more outlandish than the other is in full swing right now.
As a Red Wings fan who has to drive south to get to Canada, I have had the pleasure of watching the constant barrage of ridiculous suits selected by Cherry over the years on CBC.
Sager has refused to back down throughout the years, and he recently sported a fairly ridiculous salmon colored suit worn during game five of the Western Conference Finals.
I have collected a few good photos of each of these icons of spring, and hopefully we can settle the most important playoff series of them all.
This was taken during Game Two of the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals between Pittsburgh and Detroit.
From the Sidelines to Book Signings
Craig Sager has clearly taken a note from Alonzo Mourning and refuses to give up in this battle against Cherry.
More Colors than the Rainbow
Cherry confidently stares into the camera during the 2008 playoffs knowing that he simply cannot be beaten on this night.
Sager knows that the all-black look intimidates all challengers.
Just too Cool
A Hawaiian suit with sunglasses? Simply terrific.
So Much Red
Dealing with the devil? Sager has gone to great lengths to win this battle.
Why so Serious?
This wasn't Valentine's Day, but Cherry looks ready for it.
The Shoes Match the Jacket
It must have been Ron Burgundy night at Fenway this evening. Check out those shoes!
This picture taken during the 2004 Cup Finals shows that Cherry has never been one to hide his patriotism.
Do we have a Winner?
So there you have it, who do you think deserves to claim victory to this epic battle?
