Getting Rowdy: The Ten Best College Football Fan Bases in the Country

There are some great debates that go on through the college football season, and even before or after the season is over.
From the BCS to the best conferences to the scheduling of "cupcake" teams just to get an easy win.
In college football, there aren't any two fan bases that will completely agree on everything.
It's what makes the debate that much more fun, but also that much more heated.
The one discussion that will bring the best, and even the worst, out in fans is the argument on who are the best fans in the country.
We have different reasons for saying that our team has the best fans anywhere.
From the tailgate parties before the game, the jumping around during the game, and the parties afterward, each fan base has their own reasons for calling itself the best fans anywhere.
Heck, I'd go as far as to say that the argument stretches into who has the hottest fans, but that's a different list for a different day.
So, without further ado and with much anticipation, here are my top 10 fan bases, like it or not.
No. 10 - USC
Though the stadium is old and in a not so great area of Los Angeles, the fans still seem to come out by the thousands and "Fight On."
That being said, Los Angeles is also one of the biggest bandwagon towns anywhere. Sure, USC has had a winning tradition over the past several years, but once that disappears, so will the fans.
But, for right now, they do love their Trojans, though it's the only thing close to professional football the city has.
No. 9 - Tennessee
They start 'em young in the South because, well, football is king.
For Tennessee, who has fans that tailgate in their boats before the game and call themselves the "Volunteer Navy," I need no more reason than that to put them in the top 10.
Well, maybe the fact that I select Tennessee on College Football 2010 for Playstation 2 just so I can hear the fight song.
I like it, so sue me.
No. 8 - Oregon
OK, normally I'd say there's no such thing as "going too far" as a fan, but this one takes the cake.
Regardless of his choice in apparel, the Oregon football fans are what makes playing at Autzen Stadium darn near impossible for visiting teams, let alone visiting fans.
No. 7 - Penn State
I need to get out to Beaver Stadium before I die, trust me it's on my bucket list.
There's nothing like watching a Penn State game on television and seeing a complete white out.
Screw the sun, that's a glare that would be tough on any opposing quarterback.
No. 6 - Notre Dame
I am absolutely green with envy over these fans right here, that's dedication to their team.
Not to mention clever to paint their entire body green with exception to the letters.
Anyone else notice the dude on the very right with the exclamation point isn't doing his job?
Notre Dame undoubtedly has a huge fan base as well as an even bigger alumni base, one of the biggest reasons they're on NBC every weekend.
No. 5 - Texas
Hook 'Em! The symbol the Texas Longhorns fans love to throw up during a game, though it's a symbol the OU players and fans love to throw 'down' during the Red River Shootout.
Texas football is where it's at, and it's crazy.
From high school all the way up through college, football is the name of the game out here.
It's what this state lives for and it's what they love.
No. 4 - LSU
In Louisiana, it's the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers.
Regardless of which one you root for or which one you'll pay to see, the fans are as true and as rampant as any town you'll find in the country.
The cajuns love their Tigers and they love LSU football.
No. 3 - Ohio State
I'm not really sure what to say to this picture other than, wow.
Something else that needs to be explained to me is why do I keep hearing people call it THE Ohio State? There isn't another Ohio State out there that I'm aware of, so what's with THE?
Anyway, I digress.
Is there any better tradition in football, or one that's more well known, than the dotting of the I?
The Buckeye fans are rampant, rowdy, and true to their beloved team, and they pack out Ohio Stadium to the tune of 100,000-plus each and every Saturday.
No. 2 - Alabama
They still dress like Bear Bryant from the hottest girls to the incoming freshmen, right down to the famous hat.
The Alabama fans are wild and yes, as you can tell, they get started young here too.
Sure you are the defending national champions, but it wasn't quite enough for me to hand you the top spot, sorry.
No. 1 - Florida
From what I've been told, there's not a better place to watch a college football game than The Swamp.
From the humidity to the noise level, the Gator fans make themselves known from the very start. A visiting team never expects to go into this environment and escape with a win.
