The New York Rangers announced today that they have reached agreement on a contract with restricted free agent winger Greg Moore.
Moore, 24, spent most of the past season with the Rangers AHL affiliate in Hartford, registering 26 goals and 40 assists in 72 games. Moore also appeared in six games for the Rangers last season but did not record a point.
Terms of the deal were not immediately available.

he seems like he will be a good rookie for the rangers

Well Alan, if you actually watched him play you would know that he sucks. Sather should have been more concenrated on re-signing Sjostrom...

the Rangers have called him up before by the Rangers and every time he is called up, he is invisible and does nothing. Maybe it is because he is on the 4th line but that is the amount that he is capable of at this point. Will he be a NHLer someday? Probably but as nothing more than a 4th liner. Unless he comes out of absolutely no where he isn't going anywhere.
Just out of curiosity Alan, what in him makes u think he will be a good rookie for the Rangers.....if he even makes the team?

so the Rangers are spending money on Greg Moore when they could be re-signing Shanahan for a few hundred thousand dollars more. If Shanny wants to come back, and the Rangers have enough cap space for him, they should bring him back

The Rangers should not bring back Shanahan. As a coach, yes, but NOT as a player. The guy has nothing left in the tank. It was absolutely brutal watching him play the final months of the season...

He might not have anything left in the tank but he was third on the team in goals last year. That with missing 8 games, playing through injuries and then spending the last week or so on the fourth line.

Shanahan is like 56 yrs old, we don't need him. We also don't need Moore, but that's another discussion
