Venus Williams French Open Outfit and Tennis' Most Outrageous Looks
Venus Williams once again drew more attention to her fashion sense than her tennis game at the French Open Sunday.
That's saying a lot, as Williams has moved up to No. 2 in the world behind her sister Serena.
This corset number is fitting for the cutting edge of Paris fashion, but is Williams the most outrageous dresser on tour?
10. Martina Hingis
Remember when we thought this one-sleeved number was outrageous?
Hingis started the trend of pushing the envelope in the early 2000s.
9. Maria Sharapova
Maria has mostly been all about the white skin-tight outfits, but she went crazy with the florals in Sydney in January.
8. Maria Kirilenko
This Russian star is trying out the layered mushroom look with a little under-armor flair.
7. Anna Kournikova
We could not leave out the definition of tennis sexy in this slideshow.
Anna drew a lot of attention to her backside with her Daisy Dukes in Paris.
6. Jelena Dokic
The rising star is all about the color and the tight-fitting tops, despite her seemingly ever-growing bosom.
Shockingly, no one's complaining.
5. Tamira Paszek
Note to self: More duct tape.
4. Bethany Mattek
You won't find this middling 2000s tour player in any Grand Slam finals...unless there's a Grand Slam of Nutty Outfits.
Mattek first got our attention with the knee-high socks at Wimbledon. That's crazy time wear for the Londoners.
Oh, but it gets much better.
Bethany, This Isn't the Colloseum
Mattek tried very hard to push the envelope with her outfits.
Most of the time, she just fell flat.
What, are we going to a toga party after the match?
When Did They Start Playing Tennis at the Medieval Times Show?
Don't stare at the shiny outfit.
The satiny number combined with the stadium lights could lead to blindness.
Um, You're Missing a Button
Even when Mattek tried to be conventional, she caused premature onset of puberty among the ballboys.
3. Simona Halep
Granted, there's not many sports bras that could hold them in.
But if I'm Halep, I'm not going sleeveless.
Sadly, the 18-year-old can't much higher than 150th in the world. Simona's considering breast reduction surgery to help her climb.
And the world's males cried.
2. Serena Williams
Serena is the reigning queen of tennis fashion, there's no doubt.
She's constantly throwing new stuff at us, including this amazing orange get-up that almost takes the focus off her...midriff.
Oh, That Fabric Is Riding Up
Serena is easily the most muscular female tennis player ever, but still manages to come off sexy thanks to skorts-shirt combos like this.
Biker Chick Hits the Courts
Whenever she can, Serena goes for the theme outfits.
This one showed off her wild side. Denim on the courts? Hmmmm.
And Then There's These Ditties
Serena will go pastels and boots as quick as she'll go leather and...well, more leather.
1. Venus Williams
It took a gigantic effort to put Venus ahead of her sister, but the elder Williams sister has gotten over the hump thanks to this seemingly see-through Victoria's Secret wannabe Sunday.
She Tried Out This In Miami
Venus started down this rode with this sassy lingerie knockoff at the Sony Ericsson Open.
And This Down Under
Venus started to go for the frills with the yellow outfit at the Australian Open that had opponents complaining they couldn't tell her clothes from the ball.
Honorable Mention: Lucy Pinder
I was begging the Google gods that Ms. Lucy had some connection to tennis.
Not so much. Lucy Pinder is a English Glamour model.
Still, I had to share.
