Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that 35-year-old Chelsea anchorman Claude Makelele is set to join the club. Makelele retired from international football after Euro 2008 after winning 68 caps with Les Bleus.
PSG have already completed the signings of Ludovic Giuly and Lillian Thuram as the club prepares for next season.
PSG only avoided relegation last season, although they have a good history, winning the French league title twice and the French Cup seven times.
Makelele leaves Chelsea after joining them from Real Madrid in 2003. Makelele was part of the team that Jose Mourinho guided to back-to-back titles, serving as an anchorman behind Michael Essien and Inter target Frank Lampard.
With Luiz Felipe Scolari's appointment as new Blues manager, however, the Chelsea squad seems set to undergo a revolution.
