2010 BYU Football signee Manu Mulitalo of Granger High School in West Valley City, Utah has been described by one recruiting website as a "road grader" with a nasty streak.
Recruiting guru Max Emfinger says that the 6′3″ 325-pound Mulitalo "is one of the most aggressive offensive linemen in the country. At a recent NIKE Camp on the West Coast, there were no defensive linemen that could control him and he got the MVP Award for offensive lineman."
The camp Emfinger is referring to was held last summer at USC where Mulitalo immediately burst onto the scene. No one outside of Manu’s father knows how many scholarship offers he actually received.
That’s because, in an effort to shield his son from distractions, Manu Sr. never shared with his son many of the offers that came in.
Projected as an offensive lineman at the next level, Mulitalo expects to play guard or center for the Cougars. In this exclusive video, Manu spoke with Deep Shades of Blue about his decision to attend BYU and what he is doing to prepare to himself for the physical and mental challenges of being a Division-1 student athlete.
