I still remember that horrid Saturday. The date was March 20, and I sat on my couch in shock and pain as I watched the Northern Iowa players celebrate as they marched past my Kansas Jayhawks 69-67.
It still stings today looking back at what we had and how much we underachieved.
The 2010-2011 season could be a variety of things. The Jayhawks are talented enough to make a deep push in March, but you can't dismiss the fact that they are losing three top-notch players in Sherron Collins, Cole Aldrich, and Xavier Henry.
I, being a huge Kansas basketball fan, am really looking forward to seeing incoming point guard Josh Selby get a chance to succeed. He is probably the best prospect I have seen come to Kansas since maybe Paul Pierce.
Down low the Jayhawks will be returning the Morris twins, along with Thomas Robinson and Jeff Withey. I'm really not concerned about the 4-5 spots on next year's team. The only question I have is, will Travis Releford and Mario Little be able to step in and play well at the 3 position?
I've heard from many people that Releford has been looking good and has developed quite a jumper. Little has all kinds of offensive potential, but can he put it all together?
The Jayhawks will have plenty of depth, similar to last year's team. I think that the points will be distributed more evenly with Collins and Aldrich gone. The talent is definitely there, but can coach Bill Self put it all together?
