Chelsea Target Real Madrid's Kaka

While Chelsea are flying high in England, winning the double, Real Madrid are having a mediocre season by their standards, trailing Barcelona by a point.

In return for a double-winning season, Roman Abramovich is backing the bid for the Brazilian.

Last year, Kaka turned down a move to Manchester City, and instead went to La Liga and played for Real Madrid for £56 million.

He has had a "troubled" first season at Madrid and has been in rumors that he was more concerned about being fit enough to play in the World Cup this summer and less about Madrid's league campaign.

It's the last round of the season today, and Real need to leapfrog Barcelona or they will end the season trophyless.

Even after a great season, Abramovich still wants more. He believes Kaka may be the player he needs in team, so that they can win the Champions League. They have been close in previous years, but has failed to go all the way.

There have been rumors the last two summers about Kaka moving to Chelsea for £75, £65, and £55 million.

Chelsea may even wait a bit longer to make the move on the midfielder. In two or three years time, his sell-on value will be greatly reduced, and that is when Chelsea may put a bid on for a lower value of £40 million.
