Even though this year's team seems like they will again have a losing season, there are some positive. One of the biggest is if you compare last year's standing to this year's they were last and 7 games out of being a .500 ballclub with some overly priced vets. This year they are 4 games out of being .500 and actually have players holding allot of promise. I know every year everyone says the same thing, “Promise" ... This time I really believe that they have a good team that may someday be a playoff team. Let's just hope when certain players become superstars the owners learn from a certain Player's departure in '93 which began the plummet to certain death. Also to make matters better the minors have real pro player ready to take over and push this team to be great. If I were the Pirate ownership I would look to trade extra players for younger pitching. Teams can never have enough young good pitching. I think we all know this year, however promising, will be a losing season. Next year will be another story entirely! If they keep going they will be the NL Central Champs and maybe even the World Series Chaps in a few years. We will all just have to wait and see. Also let us hope the owners make the right moves. Here's looking to a better future.
