In the past few days, more and more reports are coming out that the Big 10 will expand to 15 or 16 teams.
While these stories have all been false, the stories make it seem as the Big 10 will expand and some stories might be true.
The conference expansions will cause a stir for the BCS and the ones keeping a BCS system intact. Conference expansions will highly "piss off" the BCS committee and why don't we rattle the entire nest by going all out by tearing down conferences and expanding others into super conferences?
The Big 10 is bound to expand sooner or later; this off season seems like a great chance. The Big 10 or Big 11 has already had "talks" about expanding with the top four candidates being Missouri, Nebraska, Rutgers, and Syracuse.
The outside candidate is most likely Pittsburgh considering the rivalry with Penn State. Here is my division and team picks for a possible expansion if the Big 10 does expand...oh, and a new name.
Now that the Big 10 has expanded the college football world is in shock that something this big just happened.
Now the media and everyone else is waiting for the next move and so are the BCS boosters in Connecticut.
Then out of nowhere the SEC strikes gold with a trade of Arkansas and an expansion to 16 teams. The SEC now looks different but an even more elite conference.
With the Big 10 and the SEC expanding the Pac 10 has to expand as well. The Pac 10 takes Boise State from the WAC and Utah from the MWC first off.
The next two teams are more easy choices being BYU and Colorado. The final two picks are the hardest out any picks the Pac 10 selects Houston and TCU; well, it was not that hard.
With the Big 12 now falling and the Big East too, the ACC is forced either expand or die. The ACC loses three great teams and must now look to the Big East for help to stay alive.
With a need to survive, the ACC raids the Big East and gains Connecticut, West Virgina, and Louisville. The ACC is also able to trade for Vanderbilt which gives them a more academic look.
The ACC finally goes after the C-USA school East Carolina.
North Carolina State
With the number of conference expansions all expanding to 16 teams some had to go. The big East would be the first to go with the ACC and Big 10 raiding it until there is almost nothing left.
The Big 12 is raided by the SEC and also folds with the loss of Texas and Oklahoma.
What is left for the remaining teams, well they all break off into other smaller conferences.
With title games for the four major conferences there is now a dismantle of the BCS and in just a few years the BCS is gone and now a new ranking system is put in and a playoff system is in place.
The BCS lovers who have stopped any attempts to let a playoff system unfold will try to stop this from has happening but I say if you truly want a playoff system "Give Them Hell" and demand an expansion.
