On a beautiful Thursday afternoon at Hollywood Park, I caught up with jockey Martin Garcia, who discussed his mount on Lookin at Lucky (pictured) in Saturday's 135th Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.

In the day’s featured $44,200 allowance race, a six furlong turf sprint for fillies and mares, Jim Rome's Surfer Girl was once again looking for her first win since coming to the United States from Brazil a little over a year ago. She got hammered at the windows, going off as the 3-to-2 post-time favorite under hot riding Rafael Bejarano, but it was Sweet Sophia and David Flores who led every step of the way to post the 16-to-1 upset.

Surfer Girl ran on to finish second for the fifth time in ten lifetime starts and for the third time in six starts since being purchased by Rome's Jungle Racing, LLC.
