Bobby Bonilla to Be Paid $30 Million over 25 Years by New York Mets

Although the New York Mets have won 14 out of their last 22 games to climb out of the National League East cellar and within two and a half games of first place, the road back to respectability is still a lengthy one for the organization; especially after the past three disastrous seasons.

And after an off-season that saw the front office make less of a splash in the free agent market than expected by fans and pundits alike, the Mets are in dire need of as much positive press as possible to keep from inching closer to being grouped with the other laughing stocks of Major League Baseball (MLB).
