Chris Williams: Bears Close To Deal With 1st Round Pick

The Chicago Bears roster stands at 80 with Chris Williams unsigned.

This is what Chris Williams's agent had to say "we have exchanged dialogue and proposals," Johnson said Thursday. "I respect the Bears' diligence in working toward a timely resolution, particularly with training camp right around the corner."

It has been reported that Chris Williams, the No. 14 overall pick, will sign a five-year contract, with $9 million guaranteed.

The only two players the Chicago Bears are worried about have to be Brian Urlacher and Devin Hester.

The Bears training camp starts in five days.

    Let's hope he gets to camp on time. Right now, he's #2 on the depth chart at LT to John St. Clair, but it won't be long before he moves up to #1, so getting to camp on time is vital.
