Denvers Past and Future...

With the vision being blurry for the Denver Broncos no one can tell how the future will pan out. The Denver Bronco fans have been on a ride since Mike Shanahan was head coach. The ride doesn't seem to be over just yet, but first we will see what the Broncos have done. Then what might be to come. Hope you enjoy the show.

Super Bowl XII

The Broncos first playoff appearance happened in 1977 with the Orange Crush Defense, which was also the first time the Denver Broncos have been to a Super Bowl. Facing the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XII, the Denver Broncos lost their first appearance 27-10.

John Elway

John Elway arrived in the NFL in 1983, originally picked by the Baltimore Colts. He refused to play for the Colts and said he'd play baseball if he was not traded to a team from a selected list which included the Broncos. He became a Bronco and would remain a quarterback through five Super bowls appearances, winning only two which were back-to-back. Elway retired in 1999, and is looked at as one of the best quarterbacks to have ever played the game.

Terrell Davis

Terrell Davis is under looked due to Elway. Davis is the reason why Elway was so great. Davis came into the NFL in 1995, and played only eight seasons, in part to his problem of losing eyesight during games. Davis had his two biggest seasons in the back-to-back Super Bowl seasons. In 1997 Davis ran for 1,750 yards with 15 touchdowns off of 369 carries. In 1998 Davis had 2,008 yards with 21 touchdowns out of 392 carries.

The Champ

Champ Bailey was drafted by the Redskins in 1999 and played for them until he was traded to Denver in 2004. Bailey is the best cornerback Denver has had by far. In 2006, Bailey intercepted Tom Brady in a divisional playoff game against the New England Patriots, Bailey broke the record for the longest non-scoring play in NFL history, with the Patriots near the goal line and returned it 100 yards to the Patriots’ one-yard line. I hope to see more of Bailey in the up coming years.

Cuting Cutler

The trade of Jay Cutler for Kyle Orton, at first seemed terrible for the Denver Broncos, but Josh McDaniels made Orton into a better quarterback than Cutler, at least for the first year. Cutler in his last year with Denver looked promising for 2009. He threw for 4,526 yards and 25 touchdowns, along with 18 interceptions. The Broncos never had a winning record with Cutler.

Marshall No Longer

Brandon Marshall, a trade that all Bronco fans hated. Marshall is a player that is still young and will not be forgotten any time soon. Denver fans will always have great memories of Marshall, like the time he set the most receptions for a single game. Now that Marshall is a Dolphin, the Bronco fans are angry with the new head coach McDaniels.

The Replacement's

Demaryius Thomas is the replacement for Marshall. After seeing who JMD picked up in the 2010 Draft, I'm happy to see that we've picked this player. He has play making ability and has some great hands. Being physical is what Marshall could do. Thomas is a physical wide receiver that has potential to be great.

Tim Tebow, also picked out of the draft, has great potential to be the franchise quarterback the Broncos need. Given time and help, player could become great. Tebow will have help as far as weapons are concerned; now having Thomas, Royal, Stokley, Gaffney, and Decker. The future seems to be getting Brighter.

Thoughts?

It would be an amazing thing to see the Broncos go to the Super Bowl in 2011. I think the chance is there, it’s just a very slim chance. With the schedule Denver has this year, it isn't a shot in the dark. Players would need to perform at their best for this thought to become a chance.

With the roster how it is, I see in the next five years the Broncos being Super Bowl Champs.
