AC Milan Star Ronaldinho Out Of Brazil's World Cup Squad

Ronaldinho has been left out of the Brazilian side going to South Africa this summer for the World Cup.

The AC Milan playmaker last featured for Brazil back in April 2009. His performance in Serie A this season has raised hopes of a recall.

Brazil's coach, Dunga, has named an already cut down squad of 23, with seven backups; Ronaldinho is one of these backups.

Rather than go for an initial squad of 30 to be trimmed down to a final 23, coach Dunga has announced a squad of 23, with seven stand-bys to be added.

Being classed as one of the best players in the world, at least in the last few years, I would have thought that he would get a place in his national team.

Brazil are hoping to win their sixth World Cup title. They've recently been named first in the FIFA World rankings. To get past the group stages they will need to see off Ivory Coast, with the likes of Didier Drogba, Portugal, with the trick-star Cristiano Ronaldo, and North Korea, with.....?
