Nascar's 'Pity Pass' aka The Top 35, it's time to do away with this way of setting the race field.

All I hear is how nascar wants their full time sponsors in the race and to make sure there are no drivers getting in the field then parking after a few laps.

They can do this by not paying a purse to any driver who does that. But what i think they are really scared of their big named drivers not making the field.

Wouldn't it be great to see J.Gordan,Stewart, either Busch brothers Harvick ,Dale Jr or any other top name driver not get in because they wrecked on qualifying from oil on the track or a blown tire or because they had their cars set up to loose to try to make speed or even a blown motor keeps them out just like every one else does who isn't in the Top 35.

Last year when nascar wouldn't let Johnson and Gordon make qualifying runs because they altered the COT's and then let them start at the back was kind of like the straw that broke the camel's back to me.

i started losing a little interest in Nascar. i just think it would be nice to see some of the big name teams and drivers miss their setups on qualifying and not make the race.

It would sure change how the top 12 looked at the end of the year which wouldn't be a bad thing.
