Oakland Raiders: Best And Worst Case Scenarios For The Last 8 Games
Jed Jacobsohn/Getty Images
A couple days ago, I wrote the best and worst case scenarios for the first 8 games of the Oakland Raiders' schedule.
Now, I will analyze the Raiders' last 8 games while giving my thoughts on the opposing squad.
Enjoy!
Week 9 Vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The Raiders always have problems with the Chiefs at home. I think this year it changes. While Kansas City has improved immensely this off-season, so has Oakland. The Raiders should have no problem against a struggling Kansas City defense, but they should be weary of the Chiefs' revamped running game. Matt Cassel is nothing special, I see him having a mediocre game. Hopefully, the Raiders will stomp on the Chiefs.
Best Case: Win, 27-10
Worst Case: Loss, 13-17
Week 10: Bye Week
The Raiders caught a break that their Bye Week is in week 10. Players will get there rest and injuries will get healed for the latter part of the season, hopefully where the Raiders will be contending for a playoff spot.
Week 11 @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Last year, the Raiders beat the Steelers in a thriller. I think this year will be nearly the same. Both teams are good in their own way. The Raiders like to run the ball; Pittsburgh likes to pass. I think this will be a good game and the Raiders have a chance at winning. It all comes down to who wants it more. Also, who knows where Big Ben will be when the Oakland Raiders travel to Pittsburgh?
Best Case: Win, 31-23
Worst Case: Loss, 20-30
Week 12 Vs. Miami Dolphins
I like the Dolphins this year. They have a very good receiver in Brandon Marshall and a future Pro Bowler in Chad Henne. The Raiders' defense will have a tough time containing Ronnie Brown, and that could cause some trouble. This will be the second week in a row where the Raiders play a tough team.
Best Case: Win, 27-20
Worst Case: Loss, 30-17
Week 13 @ San Diego Chargers
The Raiders will travel to the hated San Diego Chargers in week 13. I truly think that this game can be won by the Raiders. They lost in a close one last year because the offense and Russell stuck. Now we have Hue Jackson and Jason Campbell. This is a very winnable game for the Raiders.
Best Case: Win, 34-21
Worst Case: Loss, 14-31
Week 14 @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Is it me, or does it seem like the Jaguars get worse every year? I still remember when they were a feared team in 2007. Now, they seem like a team that can't get it together. Maurice Jones-Drew is quickly becoming a top 10 running back in the NFL and the Raiders will have a hard time stopping him. However, I think this game is a win for the Raiders.
Best Case: Win, 35-21
Worst Case: Loss, 28-17
Week 15 Vs. Denver Broncos
The Broncos are another division rival that the Raiders struggle with at home. However, Denver may have gotten worse this season. Definitely winnable for the Oakland Raiders.
Best Case: Win, 28-14
Worst Case: Loss, 27-14
Week 16 @ Indianapolis Colts
This is the toughest game on Oakland's schedule. Hands down. The Colts are the second best team in the NFL and the Raiders will have a tough time tackling MVP quarterback Peyton Manning. Never say never, though.
Best Case: Win, 28-27
Worst Case: Loss, 42-21
Week 17 @ Kansas City Chiefs
Again, the Raiders should have no problem beating the Chiefs. They usually win when at Kansas City.
Best Case: Win, 38-10
Worst Case: Loss, 23-24
Alright everyone, thanks for reading. Tell me below what you think about the Raiders opponents and give me a prediction for Oakland's final record. I say 9-7 to 11-5. Thanks for reading and please "Like" the article!
