According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE superstar Finlay has been dropped from the company's active roster.

The 52-year old Finlay joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 2004, and is a former WWE United States Champion.

It has been widely reported that Vince McMahon has been on a big youth movement, and he wants to give his younger talents more television exposure.

McMahon decreed removing Finlay from the talent roster because he felt that he was too old.

Finlay's last in-ring appearance was at WrestleMania XXVI, where he competed in a 26-man Battle Royal.

Finlay will remain with WWE as a backstage agent and producer, while working occasional house shows.
