WNBA Tulsa Shock announced that Vivian Frieson and Juanita Ward were released on Wednesday, making room for Ivory Latta who is expected to join the team on Thursday.

Coach Nolan Richardson said at this point, the veterans are a little ahead of the players just coming out college. He went on to say that they were good enough to make the team and fell victim to the numbers game.

WNBA teams must cut their roster to 11 players by May 14. In related news, Phoenix is also making cuts, as they've also released their number one draft pick.

The Shock have a "dress rehearsal" game on Sunday, May 9 against Seattle and will be closed to the public. Their first public appearance will be on May 15 against Minnesota.
