Top 5 possible surprise teams in the NFL next season
Just about every season there is a team that surprises everybody. In the 08-09 season it was the Miami Dolphins who in the 07-08 season was 1-15 went to being 11-5 and winning their division . Another example, The Cincinnati Bengals in the 08-09 season they went 4-11 and the next season they went 10-6 and won their division. But who is this years surprise teams, I have listed a total of 5 teams that could surprise some people.
5. Detroit Lions
It's kind of hard to see the Detroit lions making the playoffs right? Well listen the Lions have added some good pieces like DE Kyle Vanden Bosch and Corey Williams, and on the offensive side they've added WR Nate Burleson, TE Tony Scheffler, RB Jahvid Best, and OT Jsaon Fox. I expect the Lions to be much Improved, They won't win the division but they could be a wild card, which is pretty good for a franchise that didn't win a single game in the 08-09 season.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars
Great running game they have a good Cornerback core with Rasean Mathis and Derek Cox. Also don't overlook the addition of Aaron Kampman who before the Packers switched to 3-4 was one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. David Garrard has been challenged by the Jags frond office, I think he will take that challenge. David Garrard and Mike Sims-Walker both will have breakout seasons.
3. Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Patriots..... I mean the, Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a good draft and this teams looks like they can compete. Adding Thomas Jones to go along with Jaamal Charles was absolutely genius. That really takes the pressure off Matt Cassel, who I think will have a great year. Dwayne Bowe is going to jump into the elite class of receivers. With Romeo Crennell coaching the defense, I will expect the defense to be much improved. The only problem is, they have to play the Chargers........ TWICE!
2. Philadelphia Eagles
People have put the Eagles as the worst team in the division but the Eagles have improved their defense threw the draft and they still have the same coaching staff. I know they traded Donovan McNabb but from what I've seen out of Kolb the Eagles should be expected to be a playoff team or maybe even a contender for the superbowl.
1. Oakland Raiders
For the first time in what seems like forever, I can say the Raiders had a good draft without laughing during the sentence. Not only did they have a good draft but they were able to get Jason Campbell, and it only cost them a 2012 forth round pick! Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye played well when they had started and now you bring in a Strong Armed & more accurate QB, that can help win more football games. I expect the Raiders to win their division and I wouldn't be surprised if they make it to the AFC title game. The only way that doesn't happen is if Al Davis screws it all up.
