Valiquette Signs with KHL Team
According to Dmitry Chesnokov of Yahoo Sports, former Rangers backup goalie Steve Valiquette will not be back with the Rangers next season or even in the NHL as he has signed with CSKA Moscow of the KHL.

Valiquette, 32, has been with the Rangers since before the lock-out. Although his playing time was sporatic he was the team’s primary backup goalie behind Henrik Lundqvist from the 2007-08 season until he was demoted earlier this season for ineffectiveness.

At his age a return to the NHL for the Canadian born player is still certainly possible, but it might be unrealistic since his options were already so limited that he left the league.

It is still too early to figure out who the Rangers’ backup goalie will be next season. Even before this news it was unlikely that Vally would get the chance.
