Your Team is Just Not That Into You

With the NBA season winding down and the NFL offseason gearing up, I thought of how the relationships people have with their favorite teams sometimes resemble the dysfunctional relationships people have in life.
Many times I have listened to friends say “If a girl or a guy let me down this many times I would drop them and be on to the next one.” Here we will highlight five key signs that your team isn't into you or vice versa.
5: Do you compare your team to others?
Do you find yourself comparing your team and its players to really good teams or players who don't choke down the stretch? If so, you are in for a ride down a long winding road to despair.
4: Your friends don't like being around you while watching a game
Are you "That guy/girl" who throws the remote at the TV...even when it’s not your TV? Do you yell and curse at the game when there are preschoolers around? If you do, you may want to save your self the potential heart attack and legal charges and find a new team.
3: You’re no longer interested
Do you know your team schedule? Would you rather watch Lost re-runs instead of watching your team play? If you would rather watch Locke attempt to kill everyone on that mysterious moving island...You may need a more exciting team... if you’re into guns and action flicks I suggest any NBA team.
2: Fanatic violence
Is your team MVP a candidate for the PAC-MAN Jones award? The Gilbert Arenas: “Do you feel lucky punk” award? Or the Ben Roethlisberger: “I'm going to make you love me” award? If so, you shouldn't have to endure the teams multiple losing seasons. Jump off the bandwagon as fast as you can!
1: You don't want to wear your team jersey in public
Do you have a Raiders Ja'Marcus Russell jersey or a Buffalo Bills Ryan Fitzpatrick jersey? Are you scared of being tackled while wearing it? Or the ensuing verbal beat down you get from your boys for wearing it?
Do you wear a paper bag over your head when at games so no one can notice you? Most importantly do you feel disgusted when you see the jersey in your closet? If so, you may want to drop the team before you drop the sport.
