What a day of breaking news this has become! Well actually...not.

The news is so slow during these last couple of weeks, and as the hype of the schedules being released dies out after only a couple of hours, I might as well inform you that two new faces on the Rangers this season will be making a little bit of Blue Shirt History.

For the first time in the 80+ year Franchise history of the New York Rangers, the numbers 91 and 45 will be sewed or ironed nowadays to the back and sleeves of a jersey.

It is all but official that winger Markus Naslund will be taking No. 91 while defenseman Dmitri Kalinin will wear No. 45.

Now what's so special about this?

Well, absolutely nothing, but maybe you learned just a little something. I would prefer Naslund take not so high a number but if he scores 40 goals this season, I don't think I'll mind so much.

  3. Always liked the number 91..dunno why.

Hey, I found this kind of interesting. I mean, the Rangers are how old? And those numbers haven't once been on a jersey. Pretty crazy I think.

  4. Gonna be weird seeing Nazzy in #91

    #19=GREATEST CANUCK OF ALL-TIME!!
