It was thought that the San Francisco 49ers could take another quarterback in last week’s National Football League Draft as a back up plan to quarterback Alex Smith.
However, they didn’t take one and those actions speak louder than any comment the 49ers front office could ever make to reporters.
At one point it was thought that by many outside the 49ers that Smith would never amount to anything more than another historic first overall pick bust.
However, the 49ers waited paitiently to allow him to heal from his shoulder injury and then regain his form and develop.
That finally paid off as last year Smith finally showed that he is ready to be a starter.
Now, with his development and the addition of wide receiver Tedd Ginn jr. And a couple of offensive lineman the 49ers expect big things in the years to come.
In the end, with Mike Singletary as head coach they are probably right.
