On November 22, 1990; the force known as The Undertaker debuted. You could see on all the kids in the arena faces that they couldn't believe what they were seeing. Since his debut, Taker has gone on to become a 7 time world champion, royal rumble winner, undefeated at WM(18-0), and one of the all time greats. WCW, shame on you for not resigning Taker.
We all know how well this turned out for The Rock, Vince, the WWF, and wrestling in general. After losing his IC title to Owen Hart, The Rock turned heel and joined the NOD. The Rock began cutting promos insulting fans in his promos and fellow wrestlers. He also began referring to himself in third person with many of his sentences starting off with "The Rock says." The Rock joining the NOD turned a generic baby face into one of the all time greats. It also launched The Rock into super stardom, now that's a moment.
After missing 4 years of wrestling due to a career threatening back injury, HBK participated in the 1st ever Elimination Chamber match, where Triple H's WHC was on the line. With HBK and Triple H the last two men in the ring, HBK hit SCM to win the WHC. JR's commentary and the crowd's reaction makes this moment much more sweeter.
On the January 4, 1999 edition of RAW is WAR, Mick Foley did what many never thought he could do; become WWF Champion. The atmosphere was right and Mrs. Foley's baby boy finally became WWF Champion, with a little help from Stone Cold. This was a night to remember as Foley was the guy that everyone wanted to see win the big one and when he did, I'm sure cried tears of joy.
After leaving WCW, Chris Jericho came to the WWF in 1999. For weeks WWF fans saw the millennium clock and then finally on August 9, 1999 Chris Jericho debuted. When the titantron read "Jericho" the fans erupted. Y2J's debut is the best ever as no other debut received such a great reception and he did in fact interrupt the great one's promo.
After missing 8 months, The Game Triple H finally returned to the WWE, much the fans in MSG's delight. The crowd reaction was humongous and made HHH's return's the best ever.
Austin 3:16, one of the most popular and marketed sayings in wrestling history. It began at the 1996 King of the Ring, where Stone Cold Steve Austin cut his most famous promo after beating Jake the snake Roberts. This promo helped Austin become even more popular and launched a line of merchandise & t shirts.
After winning a battle royal on SD! to become #1 Contender to Brock Lesnar's WWE Championship, Eddie's popularity sky rocketed. Fans began cheering Eddie's Lie. Cheat, and Steal mentality. At No Way Out 2004 Eddie Guerrero beat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, this moment showed that you CAN overcome your demons and accomplish your dreams.
After becoming the 2nd man to win the Royal Rumble after entering at #1, Chris Benoit won the WHC at WM 20, defeating HBK and HHH in one of the greatest matches of all time. This has to be the greatest WM moment ever and every time I watch I cry. JR's commentary is perfect for telling of a man that has put 18 years of hard work into something and finally reaching the pinnacle on the grandest stage.
At WM 12, HBK realized his boy hood dream an became the WWF Champion for the 1st time. After wrestling the greatest match ever with Bret Hart; HBK defeated the then champion in sudden death after the two were tied after the 60 minute mark. This to remains as one of the most heartfelt moments in WWE history.
