As much as Lakers head coach Phil Jackson may claim to “love” Game Sevens, I’m calling BS.
I just can’t wait to hear Jackson say something along those lines tonight, after his Lakers lose to the Thunder in Oklahoma City.
The Thunder’s Ford Center has been anything but kind to the visiting Lakers, with OKC storming to victories in Game Three and Game Four after falling behind 2-0 in the best-of-seven series.
Oklahoma City head coach Scott Brooks is hoping for more of the same this evening when Kevin Durant and the Thunder host the Lakers in a must-win situation, after being blown-out by LA at Staples Center in Game Five.
Down 3-2, and once again with their backs against the wall, the Thunder will have to come out swinging; and, based on their prior performances at home, there’s no doubt that there will be a Game Seven in this series.
No one likes going to seven games if it can be taken care of in four; I don’t care what coach Jackson says.
So, what will it take for Brooks and the Thunder to rumble to a Game Six victory and force a deciding Game Seven in LA, pushing the Lakers to the brink of elimination in the first round of this year’s NBA Playoffs?
Let’s take a look…
