Can Campbell make it?

Paul KasprzakContributor IApril 30, 2010

The Detroit Lions selected Caleb Campbell in the seventh round of the 2008 National Football League Draft, but hasn’t practiced a single snap yet due to obligation he owed to the Army.

Well Campbell has finally fullfilled his obligations and has officially signed with the Detroit Lions.

The question is though can he even make the roster after being away from football for two years?

On top of that Campbell is also transitioning from safety to linebacker.

These are special circumstances as Campbell should be given a roster exepmtion for this year and possibly next year due to his obligations.

In the end, it is the fair thing to do.
