He played the game the right way

Left tackle Walter Jones was an integral part of the Seattle Seahawks for over a decade, but that has come to an end as he has made his retirement official.

To sum up his career he played the game the way it should be played.

In a day and age where ego maniac players are running rampant in the National Football League Jones was the complete opposite.

There is no greater testament to the type of man he is as the Seahawks wanted to give him his due today, but he declined as that is not who he is.

A move like that speaks volumes as it shows he was the consumate team player.

Jones former head coach Mike Homgren recently called him the greatest offensive player he ever coached.

In the end, hopefully Jones gets in the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility as he has earned it.
