Well, here we sit. Three weeks away from preseason’s start and it’s time to analyze. I first want to start off saying that I love this team. We have gone from one extreme to the next. We have been the biggest winners and biggest losers, but we are still the “Team of the Decades” and that won’t ever change.
This is the year that we will start to see a difference to this team, a swagger if you will, when all the pieces start to click. The only question is Javon Walker. Will he be ok?
Is the death of Darrent Williams still a factor? And will the recent attack have any lasting effects on this could-be No. 1 wideout? Those are the questions I have.
- B/R Ticket Guide
This is the year for JaMarcus to shine and shine is exactly what I think he will do. McFadden is another key addition. Even though we have Fargas, I think McFadden, Fargas, and Bush will be a trio of Backs that will help each other stay healthy for years to come.
Another person to watch again this year is TE Zach Miller. I think this guy is phenomenal. Book that. Thomas and Howard, as good as they are, will get even better. Asomugha and Hall, who are you gonna throw to now?
One more little question, is Tommy Kelly. I know that he is moving to a new position, but it is a more natural position. He’s one that is either gonna be really good, or stink up the joint. Then Huff and Wilson…another good pair to keep eyes on.
Now, my personal opinion about the AFC West this season. I think the Raiders have the ability to at least take the second spot. Our only issue will still be San Diego. Albeit, not a big issue. We just have to stop LT and they’re ours.
Simple, but true. Time to close this out. Next blog will be as the season starts. This is the year to kick it into gear! GO RAIDERS!

I thnk the Chargers are a team on the fall. Yeah they have had a couple good years and LT is a beast, but they fired their offense coordinato and defense coordinator a year ago as well as their head coach and insted got Norv Turner, who isn't exactly an upgrade. The Raiders have chance to dominant in 08!!!

With all these players coming together we have a strong chance of being competitors in the AFC West. The offense now has a couple of weapons for Russel to work with. The deffense will also look good.

You failed to mention Morrison who no doubt will improve as well as Burgess.

The free-agent signings and our player retentions this off-season cause me to think back about that classic line that was the introduction to "A Tale of Two Cities": "It was the best of times and the worst of times". So many of these players have big question marks behind their names due to various reasons (Conditioning, injury recovery, attitude, etc.). If they perform up to their potential we could have an awesome season and if not we could have a higher draft choice than last year.

I am so excited about this season. watching mccown and culpepper was painful at best, and every monday morning me and my boss ,also a raiders fan had alot to complain about, not to say that all we did was complain, but neither of us liked mccown and culpepper couldnt hold onto the ball. well this year will be better, just how much better is yet to be seen. palyoffs would be nice. GO RAIDERS!!!!!

Game recognizes game ;-) .... U nailed it right on the head. The D is stacked. The pass D is a bear trap waiting to be sprung. The run D is what will spring it. I for one think they have a great chance. If the DT's play even average, Wilson will be enough to have a 10-15 ranked D against the run.
On another note LT is the big question mark. If Kwami plays average this team can win the WEST... If he plays well, the team WILL win the west...

walker is no doubt a great receiver and can easily lead this team the way T.O. led the eagles. and that is how highly i think of him. but with the raiders see-saw quarter back situation, walker could easily end up the way that Moss did. as long as the raiders have a steady quarterback they will do fine
