The 19-year-old Deportivo Aves striker has reportedly been purchased by the English side for a fee of 500,000 pounds.

Silva, one of the hottest prospects in the Portuguese second division, has been subject to much interest from larger clubs after tallying an impressive 13 goals so far this campaign. However, David Moyes, a man keen on bringing young, affordable talent to Goodison Park, has been the one to sign up the striker who many are calling "the new Pauleta".

Concerning his transfer, Silva said, "I am calm and working for my club now, but I am happy because to play in the Premier League is a dream for any footballer because it is the best in the world." He added that he believes Everton are a great club with players who he has enjoyed watching on television.

Could Silva be the first in a line of new players at Goodison this summer? That is still to be determined. But, one thing remains clear; David Moyes will no doubt look to provide the club with the type of cheap, gifted players who have brought Everton within touching distance of the Premier League's elite in the last few seasons.
