TMZ is reporting Dana White is considering a move to release the embattled former UFC light-heavyweight champion from the promotion. White told TMZ, "We're going to be fair but we could cut him."

Details are still murky regarding what brought the police to the Ortiz-Jameson residence at 9:53 this morning. However, the early signs indicate a domestic row with the retired adult film star.

Ortiz has since been released on $25,000 bond. While his public relations people are adamant we have the wrong idea, all signs lead to something malicious involving his hands and her right arm.

Ortiz is coming off a loss to Forrest Griffin at UFC 106 which means contractually White would be well in his purview to release him, as ZUFFA contracts all have release triggers that can be activated after a defeat.

Ortiz would enter MMA free agency, presumably to be swallowed up by Strikeforce. Who knows how much of his already diminished drawing power would follow him to the California based promotion? Loser of two of his last three and showing a rapidly regressing skill set, it's unclear how much "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" has left to give the MMA world.

One thing's for certain: That shirt he wore at UFC 84 has never been less true.
