Leon Washington's Wife's Twitter Post Creates Post-Trade Controversy

Maybe this was her way of pitching a reality series called NFL Wives.

On Saturday, the final day of the draft, the New York Jets traded Leon Washington and a seventh-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks for a fifth-round pick. Later that evening his wife Charity got busy on Twitter. “Good Luck paying the 20 people due contracts @ the end of the season. Lol Thank you Jesus for getting us out of here,” she posted for her followers.

I’m guessing that snide little comment didn’t gain her many fans. Where her Twitter account had once been public, it quickly went private. While she was quick to turn on the team that stood by her husband after he suffered a serious compact fracture during the 2009 season, even re-signing him for $1.759 Million for the 2010 season, she’s not so quick to turn off her Jets-flavored Twitter avatar.

No doubt she’ll be getting horizontal with a Seahawks football soon enough. Glad to know it’s not all about her.
